Yue Chen, BS 20, MFE 23, is the first-ever Chinese national to play on a NCAA Division 1 Women’s basketball team. Chen played center for the women’s team at Cal for five years before returning to China to play professionally for 18 months. Now, the pioneering athlete is back at Berkeley with sights on becoming a Triple Bear.

Scholarship & Fellowship Opportunities

Financial Women San Francisco (FWSF) Scholarship

We strongly encourage MFE women to apply for the Financial Women San Francisco (FWSF) Scholarship each year. The FWSF Scholarship Fund provides graduate scholarships to San Francisco Bay Area women pursuing careers in the fields of accounting, finance, and/or the financial services industry. Graduate students who are selected are awarded $15,000. Admitted MFE women are eligible to apply for the scholarship and are encouraged to apply for the scholarship early.

Correlation One Data Science for All/Women Fellowship

Correlation One Data Science for All/Women Fellowship is a unique fellowship program that is designed for PhD/Master’s women. Fellows will participate in a seven-week world-class technical training, professional development workshops, and mentorship from senior industry leaders. Fellows will also be connected to job opportunities from Employer Partners, with some of the top employers worldwide. Enrolled MFE women are eligible to apply for the fellowship. The application typically opens in April and closes end of May.

The mission of FESA is to build an inclusive and empowering community and to improve the MFE program experience for current and future classes.
