Which courses are offered pre-program?
When will the pre-program courses be offered?
Are grades in the pre-program courses used in admissions decisions?
Do I have to be a UC Berkeley student to take the pre-program courses?
How does the online course work? Do I have to be available at a certain time to participate in the course?
No you do not need to be available at a certain time to participiate in the online course. Lectures are viewed 'on-demand.' We recommend that you view lectures shortly after they are posted online in order to keep with the pace of the course.
When will I have access to an online lecture?
Lectures are posted online 24-48 hours after each physical class meeting. Students will be able to view all lectures at anytime for the duration of the course.
I am taking the in-class course, may I view the online lecture?
All students, including those who plan to take the classroom version of the course, will have access to the online videos of the lectures for their reference.
Do I need to be at Berkeley to take the Final Exam?
No, you will submit your final exams thru e-mail
What computer requirements will I need to view online lectures?
Students enrolling in the online course view lectures encoded and streamed to your computer in RealMedia format. To view these lectures you should have:
- A computer running Windows XP/Vista or MacOS X
- 512MB RAM minimum
- RealPlayer (freely downloadable)
- High speed internet (384Kbps downstream or faster)
